Real-world Application of Design Thinking

Real-world Application of Design Thinking

When to use Design Thinking? How we can apply design thinking? How does this problem-solving thinking apply to human issues?

Design thinking is a philosophy and methodology that has a human-centered approach to problem solving. It can be used to deal with complex issues that are not properly defined or human needs are not known and can be applied in any field. Solving the complexity of human problems requires creative brainstorming, prototyping and testing. Design thinking that is more unique than other problem solving methods and follows a nonlinear thinking and is output and result-oriented is suitable for solving these problems in all areas.

Design thinking combines two main thought models:

Divergent: Creative thinking is for producing a variety of possible solutions and options for a problem that is used in the ideation stage of this model of thinking.

Convergent: Logical and analytical thinking that, unlike the previous model, seeks an optimal solution that tries to choose the most appropriate among a variety of options.

Design thinking tries to combine these two models, which are completely opposite, creativity along with pragmatism, variety and refinement of ideas.

There are many cases where this kind of thinking has been used in different industries and positive results have been achieved. Every industry and field that meets the needs and problems that have been faced has used this method of thinking.
